Setup

If you haven’t done so already, go to the most recent version of the plugin on GitHub (found here) and download the appropriate installation file for your system. These tools make it very easy to include this plugin in your setup.

Windows

On Windows, the system may inform you that the installation setup file is potentially unsafe. This is because it is not well-known - it is perfectly okay to continue. Make your way through it and you’re done! OBS Studio should now display obs-midi-mg Setup under the Tools menu.

MacOS

On MacOS, the system will inform you that the installation package is potentially unsafe because it is not trusted by Apple. It is perfectly okay to continue - this plugin comes as advertised. However, you will have to make MacOS open the file by going into System Settings > Privacy & Security and clicking Open Anyway next to the file (after attempting to open it once). The installer should then open as normal. Make your way through it and you’re done! OBS Studio should now display obs-midi-mg Setup under the Tools menu.

Linux-Based

Currently, only the .deb package is supported to install this plugin on Linux systems. Additionally, this package has only been tested and working on Ubuntu 24.04. However, a Flatpak package is in the works!
